Mike Zimpfer relief fund

Greetings,
Many of you know Mike Zimpfer many years now being in fire and EMS since the age of 16, the last 18 years of which have been as Paramedic for the City of Allentown. Many who know Mike are aware of his sudden severe enviormental allergies and he has spent multiple admissions at LVH in the ICU and . Mike has had central lines in every locations possible, pic lines, nearly intubated a dozen times and the most recently nearly trached. Because of the numerous hospitalizations Mike has also used up all his allotted sick time.
Many also know about the event on August 1, 2015 while performing his functions as a paramedic. Mike and his partner were attacked by an unpleasant patient under the influence of drugs and alcohol and was knocked unconscious after suffering a blow to the head. Mike went through nearly 8 months of concussion care and treatment before being allowed to return to the job he has always loved. Now with reoccurring symptoms and workers comp being in the legal system with an unknown time frame for it to be resolved, he and his family find themselves with very limited income and health benefits have also been canceled. Mike is currently NOT permitted to driver or work.
Mikes wife, Jen is working full-time but still unable to make ends meet and keep up with the monthly bills. Because Mike was dropped from his health insurance plan his weekly therapy and medications bills total over $2,000. That along with a family, mortgage and various other expenses is the we are reaching out.

Mike has been suffering financially off and on for over a year and is now at rock bottom. Like many of us he was ashamed and too prideful to ask for help. Mike had been hoping things would turn around medically speaking or the incident would get resolved legally as far as workman’s comp / disability.

Thank you for taking the time to read about Mike. I know we are entering the holiday season and finances can be tight but any donation however big or small would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas and God Bless!
