Keep Loretta out of the cold!!!

Donation protected
Whether you noticed her or not, for the past year and half, one of the sweetest and kindest spirits has been our neighbor in Hough. Lorreta Ann Shaw has been living in her car in the parking lot of Kauffman Center up until this last Saturday when her car broke down. She is 80+ years old, weighs less than 90 pounds, and suffers from dementia.
Many of us in the community have offered her assistance, a hot meal, car repair, or offering a warm blankets and pillows, tough old gal that she is, has always said that she was just fine where she was, and happy as could be!
Unfortunately Lorreta went into hypothermia on Saturday and we in jumped into action.
She has no family to care for her, Son and Husband both deceased, and her brother also has memory care issues.
We are asking for donations to pay for a hotel to keep her out of the cold until she can be placed in permanent housing. All funds collected will go exclusively to her room and board. Her hotel is only payed for a few days at which point she will be out on the street. We are attempting to negotiate a weekly rate for her to bring the cost down but need resources to do so.
She has an appointment for an assessment on November 5th, but we have been informed that it will take up to eight weeks to get her placed.
A group of community volunteers is checking on her every eight hours, the hotel staff is also monitoring her, and she has meals regularly delivered.
Please give what you can, every little bit help helps
