Please help rebuild Canoa, Ecuador
Donation protected
My name is Erik Wenz. I am a retired Firefighter Paramedic from Sacramento City Fire Department. I was also a member of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue TASK FORCE 7 that's out of Sacramento, California. As a member of USAR I was a first responder to New York on 9/11 and know how assistance can help. I currently live in Canoa, Manabi, Ecuador which was rocked with a 7.8 earthquake on April, 16th, 2016 and as of date has had over 3,000 aftershocks, some as large as 7.1. The earthquakes have devastated the northern coastal town and cities of Ecuador.
My wife Krista and I, along with other persons who survived the earthquakes, worked through the rescue/recovery and demolition of the Canoa area. Now we are focusing our efforts in the rebuilding of the Canoa area and surrounding communities We have extensive construction experience and are highly engaged with the community. We have also been assisting in bringing Siesmic regulation information to the area. All of our efforts have been volunteer since. Donation funds sent to us fully go towards relief efforts, with no funds being used for administrative costs. We need assistance in funding to purchase building materials and for keeping tools running. We are working directly with our partners at Proyecto Saman to begin the first round of homes for families who are still living in tents.
Please know that any amount would be greatly appreciated. If only another 994 people donated $50.00 we could meet our goal. Thank you for your time and consideration.
