Patients in the Philippines Need Your Help​

Cancer medications can often cost several times the average household income in the Philippines. There are currently seven patients living with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (cancer) in the country who are not able to afford the medication they need. Your donation – big or small - will go a long way in helping these courageous patients! ​

These patients are enrolled in a treatment access program that provides financial assistance to help cover most of the cost of their full course of treatment. But the financial support provided is not sufficient for patients with very limited financial resources. Join the Together for Patients movement and help cover the remaining treatment cost for these brave patients battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. ​

Here are some of their stories. Patient details have been changed to ensure confidentiality.

Andrea, 26, a young and vibrant woman whose life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with cancer last year. Though Andrea's parents work tirelessly to support Andrea and her three siblings, the family has been burdened with financial hardships and setbacks, making it nearly impossible for them to afford the potentially life-saving treatment she desperately needs. ​

Antonio, 40, a former seaman, has always been the rock of his family. Fate dealt him a devastating blow when he was diagnosed with cancer, and he’s now unable to return to work. With mounting medical expenses and the burden of hospitalization, his family’s financial stability has crumbled. He faces the looming fear of losing access to the life-saving treatment that could save his life.​

Carmelita, 67, is a retired medical technologist who lives a solitary life with only a modest pension and no one to lean on for support. Life threw a cruel twist when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma disease. While she occasionally receives financial assistance from her siblings, it falls short of covering the overwhelming expenses of the life-saving treatment she desperately needs. ​

Rodrigo, 34, is a dedicated and hardworking public institute worker who has always been the pillar of his family. His health took a sudden and devastating turn with the diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which shattered his family. They now stand on the precipice of a heart-wrenching reality, where they may no longer be able to afford the critical cancer treatment he needs.​

Nenita, 39, is a passionate and dedicated public school teacher who has devoted her life to shaping young minds. She also cares for her 12-year-old son and is now battling cancer. She relies on the support of her sister-in-law and the occasional acts of kindness from others to make ends meet. She desperately needs to access vital treatments and care. ​
