Sherrie's Hearing Aid Fund

My wife Sherrie had two operations to remove a pituitary tumor in 1999 and 2000. After the first she was given eight weeks of radiation treatment to kill the inoperable portion that could not be removed. May of 2000 a Duke specialist performed eleven hours of surgery in May of 2000 to remove the remaining tumor. In the years following my wife’s hearing began to gradually fail, no one is sure if the operation or radiation is responsible. 

     However, because of several complications from the surgeries Sherrie had to quit teaching and go on disability. This brings us to the need for Go Fund Me. She has been to a hearing specialist. The doctor told us that there was a hearing aid that will help correct the hearing loss. The cost would be $6300. Social Security Disability does not pay for hearing aids. The cost would be our responsibility totally. We do not have that kind of income. Without the hearing aids her hearing will continue to deteriorate. We need your help.

   Untreated hearing loss, according to the doctor, results in depression and social withdrawl. I have seen both of these get more and more pronounced over the past year in my wife. I just want my wife back. Please help us.
