Saving a veteran

Donation protected
Paul Funkhouser served his country and all Americans in the US Army from 1955-1962. His family migrated to America from Germany in 1734; before it became the United States.

Paul has worked all his life, has no living relatives and now. just before his 87th birthday, is in jeopardy of being evicted as his rent has been doubled by his landlord and his Social Security can not cover it. The court has filed for an eviction.

We have found him Senior housing with meals included and the VA will begin subsidizing his expenses after 3 months. He is 3 months behind on his current rent because of the increase. He has lived there for 11 years and his MRI says he is in danger of a stroke due to this stress.

We are trying to raise $10,000 to support him during the transition. He owes $6000 in back rent to his current land lord and will need to cover a one month non refundable deposit at the Breakers Senior living facility as well as moving costs. The monthly fee for residents at the facility is $1825 plus electric.

There are many Pauls in this country that need this type of help, but this is the one I personally know and can do something for now. Perhaps if this is successful we can form an organization to help our many other deserving veterans. Every dollar will make a difference!

Thank you!
