Help fight for Ashanti and her family!
Ashanti Gallimore was born on September 10th, 2012. She has always been a happy 3 year old that is full of life! She enjoys playing outside and spending time at the park with her 2 older brothers Trent Gallimore(15 years old) and BJ Hughes (9 years old). On Friday May 27th, 2016 Ashanti was involved in a serious accident. While playing at home in the yard she ran into the street and was struck by a vehicle.
Ashanti has sustained several serious injuries. She is currently hospitalized at GRU Children's Hospital in Augusta GA. Ashanti is in the Pediatric ICU where she receives 24/7 care. She has sustained a broken pelvis and hip. The doctors have her sedated and she has been placed Ashanti on a ventilator due to a damaged left lung. The fluid taken from her lungs has infection and she is being treated in an effort to keep pneumonia from developing.
She is currently unable to move her legs. Doctors are waiting to determine the extent of damage to her spinal cord. There is a build up of fluid around the spinal cord that is preventing us from knowing more at this time. Doctors plan to wait and not perform any procedures at this time to see what will happen with the fluid.
Doctors have determined that Ashanti has some bleeding on the brain. They are still actively running scans to determine the extent of damage.
Ashanti will spend several weeks/months in the hospital. She will later be sent to Atlanta for further rehabilition.
Ashanti's mother, Talithia Gallimore is a single parent and has been by her side at the hospital since the day of the accident. She will be unable to work throughout her recovery. At this time we are asking for donations to assist Talithia in continuing to care for her other two young children. There will be many other expenses throughout her daughter's recovery and she currently has no income.
Ashanti is a fighter and we know that with the help of the Lord she WILL pull through this!
Thank you in advance to everyone for your donations and prayers!
