Visit Christina

My 4 yr. old niece, Christina...the sunshine in my heart! She is in California foster care. Her Dad, my brother, passed away a couple years ago. Her mother's whereabouts? Unknown.
Christina will be 5 in July. Her case worker informed me that her Mom is not doing what she needs to do to get her back and strongly suggests we visit Christina in preparation for permenant placement this August. The financial need is for us to travel to CA from MI in mid-July (my husband's scheduled vacation time he requested at the first of the year. Little did we know this would happen!). Being that my husband is the only one working at this time, (I'm recooperating from two major surgeries to remove cancer in my abdomen. Almost well enough to work, getting stronger every day, I'm fortunate to say my bloodwork results are 6 months cancer free!) the cost for airfare, lodging for a 4 day/3 night stay, and car rental is impossible on his income.
I would normally turn to my Daddy in times of need but he passed away a few years ago. All I know in my heart of hearts is that she needs us. We talk on the phone as often as possible. She's pleaded several times for me to come to her. All I could say is we are doing our very best to make it happen.
I'm humbly asking help to show her we are here for her. We are her family. Family is everything. Especially for little ones. If it be the reason why I'm still here on this earth... to show her (in person) she is not discarded, abandoned, or unwanted. Ultimately, we are willing to provide a permenant, stable loving, safe home. Praying... one step at a time.
If there is anyone who will help us financially make this visit a reality, we would be forever grateful!
