Post Brain Surgery Support for Tina

Hello all, this is Tina’s son Kaden writing to you in a time of need and support for my mom. As you all know, my mom is a strong, independent, and hard-working woman who wishes not to ask for much support from others. Because of all she’s been through this year; my grandpa’s passing, difficulties with COVID-related work, losing her beloved dog of 13 years, and now facing the recovery from the removal of a large left frontal lobe brain tumor, we believe she’s going to need a bit of help. On November 18th, after a weekend of horrendous headaches which she described as the worst she’d ever felt, my mom was diagnosed with a 5cm x 4cm x 4cm (tennis ball sized) meningioma behind her left eye. The next few days were MRI-filled hospital visits and prep for surgery. The tumor was successfully removed on November 23rd after a 6 1/2 hour surgery, and she was released on November 25th and has been bedridden since. Having used all her sick time to support her dad through his final days, she still is required to pay for mortgage, insurances, groceries, etc and will not have the sufficient finances to do so. We are faced with these financial struggles as well as emotional challenges, but the support we’ve already been given so far has been phenomenal and has lifted our spirits. We are so grateful for all those who check in and send their thoughts and love. My mom wishes she could give every single one of you a hug, you mean so much to her.
