Soldiers are committing suicide at astonishing rates and climbing every year! As a mental health provider in the Army. I saw first hand the gross negligence and brokenness of the system and I’ve chosen to resign my commission after 12 years of honorable service to fight a battle that had I fought in uniform would have landed me in prison for conduct unbecoming of an officer. I am nearing the end of completing a very controversial book that will call attention to the problems in policy, gaps in services, and yes addresses the toxic command climates that permeates the armed forces which are all contributors to the suicide epidemic...and this is all preventable. My story will be told and I intend on sending a copy to every sitting Governor, Senator and representative in the house representing all 54 states and territories! To do this I must have your help!! I refuse to be a bystander any longer. Our soldiers and their families deserve better. As The Tracer Patient, I took matters into my own hand and entered the mental health system as a high risk soldier myself. That perspective offered so much more than I could have imagined. My goal is not to shame the military or any one person, but to bring about change. We are all going to learn from the Kansas National Guards negligence and continued negligence. Please help fund this cause and read the book when it’s published!! These efforts will save lives! My book will be on shelves and available for purchase by the end of March 2023!! It’s time we all stand and take part in taking action to hold leaders, politicians and policy writers to a higher standard!! The time for change is now!!
