Legal Expenses

Hello my name is Jonathan Lucas. I am a 46 year old man, who chose not to get vaccinated. I have filed suit against my employer, case # 1:22-cv-00677, and am asking for financial support to help with legal expenses. I have been a Construction Inspector for 7 years. Throughout the entire pandemic , I faithfully performed my job duties for 2 years, while administration was teleworking from home . I was in and out of people's homes and on job sites with close quarter contact. My employer provided nothing more than a neck gator and a paper surgical mask.

In January of 2022 my employer introduced a Vaccination Policy with the options of either being vaccinated or providing a religious or medical exemption.

On March 8th of 2022, I was placed on administrative leave WITHOUT PAY and remains my current status. This was my consequence for choosing not to get vaccinated nor submitting a medical or religious exemption . I am fighting for Our First Amendment Right against an inconsistent employer and their unjust and unlawful policy. There are fellow employees/co-workers that are unvaccinated and have not seen adverse actions because they have submitted exemptions. I do believe in a higher power but am not part of any religious community and felt it would be very dishonest to submit an exemption. Vaccinated is vaccinated, unvaccinated is unvaccinated. Without an exemption, My First and Fourth Amendment Rights have been violated. I am doing everything humanly possible to fight my employer to get back to work with wages. Six months+ without pay is the ONLY reason I am asking you, My Community, for financial assistance. We do not anticipate the case being settled until February of 2023.
