Help Angel Debra Get Through The Next Two Months

Donation protected
I have started this GoFund Me for a dear friend of mine, Debra who has suffered a traumatic loss. The Thanksgiving holiday is normally a time of joy, celebrating with family and good food. But this year, Thanksgiving turned into a complete nightmare for Debra and her son when Roby, husband to Debra and father to Trevor, was hospitalized and then passed away very suddenly.

Two days before Thanksgiving, Roby was injured when a box of frozen turkeys fell on him at the grocery store he worked at. He was in an extreme amount of pain and finally agreed to go to the hospital. This was ‪Tuesday afternoon‬. Once at the hospital it became clear there was much more going on. His blood pressure was dangerously low, he had heart arrhythmia and a bacterial blood infection (not Covid). Of course we were all concerned about him but death was not on anyone's radar.

Roby was always such a selfless person, honest and true an amazing light that touched everyone he met. None of us could guess that on Thanksgiving Roby would be on life support. Roby's doctors and medical team worked hard to bring his blood pressure up but to no avail. His body couldn't fight the infection and his organs began to fail. All we could do at that point was pray for a miracle.

On Saturday the 28th at 4:45pm Roby passed away. Roby was one of the hardest working people I have ever known. He worked three jobs to support his family and still did anything and everything he could to help other people. Roby's second job was at a local pet crematorium. He felt honored that he would be the last person to touch people's beloved pets before they were cremated. He was gentle and kind and treated each pet's body with dignity, respect, and the love he would want for his own furbabies. He touched so many people just in the way he handled their deceased furbabies. It takes a special kind of person to be so gracious and kind as he was.

Roby was the kindest, most gentle soul I have ever met. He would do anything to help a complete stranger. He loved his family and they loved him. Walking into Debra and Roby's home you could feel the love bubbling over whenever you walked through the door. Roby's third job was his Young Living business. Those on Roby's team understand the kind of love and warmth that Roby exuberated at all times.

When I spoke with Debra and Trevor ‪Saturday night‬ Debra told me how grateful she was that she got to celebrate her 38th wedding anniversary with Roby just before he passed and that he was able to celebrate their son, Trevor's recent engagement. She felt at peace knowing that Roby had gone home to be with the Lord and she knows he will be watching over her and Trevor until they are all reunited one day again.

This loss has been a shock and the grief comes in waves for Debra and Trevor. Roby was her husband, bestfriend, and partner in life for 38 years. It is hard even to process this loss let alone deal with the financial burdens Debra now faces. Roby's mom and Debra's sister were kind enough to send money for Roby's cremation but fear keeps creeping in. How will rent get paid, bills, legal expenses etc. It's something no one should have to worry about after the sudden loss of their partner.

We're asking for donations to help cover living expenses for the next two months until some funds start coming in due to a lot of paperwork Debra is working on currently. And to cover legal fees during this uncertain time. Debra and Trevor have so much on their plate. Grieving and processing such a sudden loss, the end of life legal process, and trying to figure out how to make ends meet now. We also ask for prayers for Debra and Trevor. Your support means the world to Debra and Trevor and is so appreciated.
