Tri-County Ice Arena Sound Sytem

The Tri-County Ice Arena was built in 1973 to serve the Fox Valley Area with indoor ice skating and ice hockey. The facility has been home the home to thousands of youth hockey players hoping to get to the next level or simply to play a competitive sport they love. Since its opening, in 1973, the maintenance of the facility has taken a steep decline and is now in much need of repair. Cumulatively, the estimated cost is $2 million to complete all of the tasks that include a new compressor, new sound system and a paved parking lot, to name a few.

In 2014, the Appleton Ice, Inc. board of directors began its operation of the Tri-County Ice Arena on a fifteen year lease with the rights to own the facility at the completion of the term. Since their acquisition, approximately $246,000 has been invested in facility upgrades. These upgrades include new carpet in the lobby, a rebuilt compressor system, a new chiller tower and more.

At the end of May, the Tri-County Rec Association, who previously managed Tri-County Ice Arena, contacted the Appleton Ice, Inc. management team. The Rec Association pledged $7,500 to match funds of $7,500 raised by the people who use the Tri-County Ice Arena. These funds must be raised by June 24 in order for the Rec Association to fulfill its pledge and disband as an organization. The funding will enable the Appleton Ice, Inc. board to install a new sound system that will benefit all of our user groups inside of the large ice arena.
