Friends of Tim and Chris have asked that someone start this site in order to help with Tim's medical expenses not covered by insurance in 2020 and 2021 that are anticipated to be about $12,000 per year. Tim and Chris have helped many of us in various ways over the years- it's time for us to help them now if we can.
Let's face it. The year 2020 has sucked for pretty much everyone, for various reasons. Unfortunately, Tim has not been able to claim exemption. On Sunday, November 29th, his world was flipped upside down when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma - a form of blood cancer that may also/likely affect his bones via bone marrow. The Mayo Clinic website says:
"Multiple myeloma is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Healthy plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs. In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow and crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause complications."
While we've been told this is not curable, it IS treatable with various therapies (including chemo) throughout the rest of his life. Tim is fit and healthy otherwise and, if you know him, you know he'll be taking this on with his typical "Tim Standards", not willing to call any project "done" until he's satisfied it's the absolute best it can be. Please visit Tim's CaringBridge site for more details https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/timlacasse
Thank you for your consideration!
