Keep Kavon Strong

My Grandson Kavon at 8 months old February 2020 was diagnosed with a very rare aggressive brain cancer called ATRT. He had his first brain surgery to remove his tumor February 3rd followed my 4 weeks of recovery. Which his amazing neurologist removed 100% of his tumor. March 2nd 2020 our little boy started 2 very intensive rounds of strong chemotherapy. Due to the strong chemo Kavon had to stay in the hospital for two months . While in the hospital there was many days that chemotherapy made him very sick , vomiting , diarrhea and fevers . After the 2 months we got to spend one week at home before returning to the hospital for 3 more rounds of ever more aggressive chemotherapy and 3 stem cell transplants. And more days of being very sick , fevers. On top of this COVID had just locked us down and Kavon got no visitors for the 6-7 months he was in the hospital for treatment. He was released home for a long road of recovery from his treatments . To regain his immune system and heal. Due to his intense chemotherapy he was placed on a feeding tube. So we have been working really hard on starting to eat normal food. Aug 11 2020 he has got to come home where he has finally learned to crawl , walk and so much more while healing from this monster of cancer . Due to the aggressive cancer he had to get brain MRIs every three months. December 8 2020 was his routine MRI to check to make sure there was no more cancer growth. We did not get the news we had dreamed of. Those words some out of his doctors mouth “ the tumor is growing back” . Our hearts dropped from our chest and tears filled our eyes. While our little boy just sat there watching his I Pad having no clue what’s about yo happen again !!! We don’t have details of what’s next . We are hoping they can remove it . This had devastated our family . I have had to stop working to help take care Kavon . While his mother has had to stay working for her mental health as well as financially. The money that we get from this go fund me will help with any medical expenses not covered by insurance. And left overs will be spent of making sure Kavon gets as many life experiences as possible.
