Gem's Inspirational Struggle
Donation protected
Little Gem, at barely four weeks old, was abused and paralyzed in her back end. She was rescued by a lady who heard about this attack - the lady's name is Ella. It was evident right away that Gem was in trauma emotionally and mentally as well as physically.
A great dog rescue called "Paws for Love" in Thunder Bay paid for her flight out of the north into Thunder Bay and has been paying for her very expensive vet bills ever since.
It soon became clear that if Gem was to ever walk, she would need ongoing alternative treatments. The chiropractic and acupuncture treatments she has been having are showing success - and the hope is to continue these treatments until she is able to walk.
Although we've had some money donated towards her alternative healing, we just can't seem to keep up with the cost. And, we are so very committed to seeing Gem walk on her own! Hence our decision to start this GoFundMe account.
Gem has a whole team of helpers (angels in disguise) who are very dedicated and committed to giving Gem every chance possible to walk on her own. And of course, Paws for Love Dog Rescue has been more than 100% supportive and helpful especially with paying her vet bills!
Gem is currently getting around in a new wheelchair, although without walking on her own, she continues to have complications with a pressure sore, infections and other typical challenges for a dog that cannot walk.
There are so many people that have given Gem their support it's impossible to name them all, I'd need another page. All of us, and especially Gem, would be more than grateful for ANY size donation at all, small, medium or large! It all adds up! Thank you so much from Gem and all her supporters!
