Debbie’s Medical Bills
Donation protected
On Thursday May 4th, Debbie was taken to urgent care by a friend after work. What followed was a hospital admission, emergency appendectomy, an overnight hospital stay including radiology, lab work and much more, and a round trip airline ticket for Aubry. In addition, multiple days of recovery at home and lost income. As a self-employed single woman, having to meet this financial burden alone is very stressful.
ROUND TWO: Debbie experienced pain during her recovery time but pushed through to return to work and Aubry travelled back to Nashville. One week post surgery Debbie woke up with a high fever. She was instructed by her surgeon to immediately go to the emergency room. It was 11:00 PM when she took an Uber to the hospital and was admitted with an infection in the form of two abscesses. Aubry returned from Nashville on a second flight to help. Intravenous antibiotics were administered and a grueling five nights and six days in the hospital followed to lower the high white cell count and fever. A procedure was required to drain one of the abcesses but the other abcess was located in an unreachable place. Another scan revealed inflammation in her colon due to this appendectomy. There were many, many other details.
After five nights in the hospital Debbie was discharged with no fever and a white cell count within the normal range. She was prescribed oral antibiotics to be taken five times a day. Aubry stayed for three more days before returning to Nashville and Debbie returned to work.
ROUND THREE: Almost a week after her second hospital release, things took another turn. Debbie began to feel ill and cancelled appointments at the salon to stay home and rest. Nausea and vomiting began. Yesterday afternoon she was back in urgent care where a scan revealed a bowel obstruction. She was transported to the hospital from urgent care. A tube has been inserted from her nose into her stomach to hopefully give the intestine time to rest and work out the obstruction. Aubry flew back from Nashville for a third time. So now we wait in the hospital....again.
Everyone who knows my mom knows how strong she is and how hard she has worked throughout her life to provide for both of us. This has been such a stressful time for us. Combined with multiple hospital stays, and the financial burden from medical bills and loss of work income...it is heartbreaking.
We greatly appreciate anything you are willing to give and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support we have received. ❤️
Love,
Her daughter Aubry, and her best friend Ana
