Send OR Delegate Annie To The DNC!

My grandfather was a political prisoner in Cuba, as was my father. They left, fleeing imprisonment and torture, under a dictator who did not allow dissenting (minority) opinions, free and fair elections, the right to assemble peacefully, a free press, or government transparency/accountability.

I was raised with a thirst for justice. I was raised to observe, to ask tough questions and demand answers. I was raised to believe that we have a personal stake in bringing about a just world. It is our duty and our obligation.

I got my start in political organizing from the ground up, in Minneapolis, MN for Senator Paul Wellstone, a hero on many fronts. Eventually, I moved on to work in grassroots organizing for Clean Water Action MN, WA Community Action, Wisconsin Citizen Action, as an intern for NARAL, for Working America (an AFL-CIO affiliate), and the Defend OR Campaign. I have worked locally, in my underserved, rural community on campaigns like No on LNG. I have phone banked, canvassed, registered voters and hosted rallies for the Bernie Sanders Campaign.

I see the dream of justice in Bernie Sanders and his platform. He has ignited a revolutionary spirit that will not be pacified, will not be cajoled or put to bed. We CAN live in a nation where Racial Justice, Environmental Justice, Economic Justice and Social Justice are a reality. We can demand election reform, NOW.

On June 18th, at the Oregon State Convention, I was elected to serve as a Bernie Sanders Delegate (alternate) to the Democratic Nation Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia!!!! I bring my passion and experience to the table. I will be a strong, resilient voice for Bernie, his platform, and the Revolutionary movement, for reform that is so urgently needed.
