Hello Friends and Family...
As you may or may not know, I was recently diagnosed with round cell sarcoma. I had pain in my left wrist that became so painful I went to ER back in February. They didn't find anything but referred me to an orthopedic who upon taking further x-rays found a tumor in my wrist that had basically eaten my radius bone. I was referred to an orthopedic oncologist who did surgery immediately to try to remove tumor, got most of it and sent off for testing. I was also experiecing pain in my right underarm and after further testing, the sarcoma was confirmed. I was then referred to an ocologist who specializes in Sarcoma and started chemo immediately. I have had one 48 hour round of chemo that produced great results so I am hopeful the doctors plan of action will work. I am blessed to have a great team at Emory. The plan is to continue chemo, add radiation, surgery under arm and then reconstructive surgery on left arm and wrist.
Because of the location of the tumors and the excruciating pain, I have been unable to work since mid February. I am asking for donations to help with living costs, presciptions, transportation, and health insurance costs for the next 6 months. Anything will help take some of the stress out of the equation and will be greatly appreciated to me and the friends and family who are taking care of me.
This cancer is rare and there are like 50 versions of it and we do not have all the answers yet but we are attacking aggressively. I'm fighting it like the bad ass I am. I will have new photo up by weekend.... Lil'Red with no red hair.
