Help Manolo Fight!
My Name is Margaret Altman and I am Manolo's aunt. As a family we are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Manolo Fogg and his family.
Any funds raised will go directly to Manolo to help him in this time of great need. First, thank you for being here, for your prayers, and wanting to help.
Manolo is a 37 year old proud father of three bright children who are 7, 5, and almost 3 years old. Manolo is a hard working young man who has worked for Holiday Stationstores as a technician for 10+ years. Manolo has always prided himself on working full time and being a family man. He has raised his children to be active, creative, and kind and thoughtful individuals. He and his girlfriend April have a beautiful, blended family of 5 children that are very close.
As some of you may know, about a month ago, Manolo was having some pressure in his head and was having trouble breathing. Initially, Manolo was reluctant to go and see a doctor but his girlfriend April insisted he go in and get it checked out. After They did some scans they found he had enlarged lymph nodes in his neck. More tests were then ordered and they found a blood clot in his neck as well as a large mass in his chest in front of his heart. After scans and a biopsy, doctors discovered the presence of cancer, a tumor, half the size of his heart. Specifically, Manolo was diagnosed with Large B-Cell non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which is an aggressive, fast-growing cancer. Manolo was moved to University of MN, where he is receiving his first chemotherapy treatment. As you can imagine, getting sick and being hospitalized is expensive. Manolo’s cancer treatments are a regimen of five days of chemotherapy, and three weeks to recover, he will have to repeat the process for a total of six times. As it takes 7-10 days to recover after each 5 day chemo treatment.
He will need extra help. He will have many unexpected expenses; medical, pharmacy, deductible, childcare, and other needs. While sick Manolo’s long term disability is structured in such a way that he has a delayed start date and the checks will be lower than the regular checks that he would have gotten from his job. Additionally, managing to pay the large annual deductible for this year and for next year is a challenge. Manolo and his family could use any financial support they can get. Your generosity can help lighten the load, so that he can focus on recovery.
Your kind donation will go directly to Manolo to help deal with the financial repercussions of his current condition, so he can focus on healing. Please first and foremost keep Manolo and his family in your thoughts and prayers and if you can donate, please do. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and support Manolo and his family in any way that you can.
