Rickshawing for Bowel Cancer

Cancer is something my family have been affected by too many times, including the recent diagnosis of my younger brother Simon who continues to fight bowel cancer.

I recently celebrated my big 4-0 earlier this year and as part of the festivities (or as Sarah says "part of my midlife crisis") I decided to embark on a small adventure across India with 7 close (and equally stupid) friends. Rather than make this a completely self-indulgent trip, and given potential risks associated with driving anything on an Indian road, I thought I would use this opportunity to raise a small amount of cash to support the Jodi Lee Foundation.

For those unfamiliar with the Jodi Lee Foundation, below is an extract from their website:

"Jodi Lee Foundation was established in honour of Jodi Lee, who lost her battle with bowel cancer at age 41. Since 2010 we have been on a mission to empower people to take active steps to prevent bowel cancer, act quickly on symptoms and live healthy lives.

We are a leading voice for bowel cancer prevention. Each year we reach millions of Australians through our national initiatives including our Workplace Prevention Program; campaigns like Trust Your Gut, major fundraising events such as The JLF Trek, PR and a powerful social media voice to raise awareness about bowel cancer."

This is a great cause and will help drive awareness and prevention in a disease that can often be treated if detected early enough.

Please spare whatever change you have or please donate $€£ in lieu of that big 40th present you were planning to gift me....
