Recovery for Rachel

Im setting this fundraiser up to raise money for my sister, who is living everyday with a debilitating disease. She was recently hospitalized for the last two weeks, and the medical costs and ongoing costs will be high. Rachel was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Cancer 7 years ago, and still suffers from symptoms. The cancer had spread to her colon and lymph nodes, so she will never be considered cured. She has to have labs and 3-4 different scans every 3-6 months. She also has to see an out of state specialist every 3-6 months, so travel costs and time can be very demanding. During these last two weeks, my sister was taken by ambulance twice and hospitalized. She suffered from 5 TIAs(mini strokes) in 10 days. The hormonal issues from the cancer have caused her heart to work harder than it should and in turn caused the mini stroke symptoms, and heart arryhthmias. Her entire left side of her body goes numb and weak, and during these episodes she is unable to speak. While these issues are hard they also found that she has a rare birth defect on top of everything. Its called Chiari Malformation. Her skull is too small to contain her brain, and the bottom part of her brain hangs down into the spinal cord. Rachel suffers from symptoms daily, and the doctors have told her that she now can not be alone, or drive, as they dont know when she will have another attack. Her husband is now unable to work in order to be able to stay with her and take care of her and their 3 beautiful girls. They do not have much family close enough to help. Rachels insurance will be soon cutoff and they will have to pay Cobra in order to maintain any coverage for her to continue to be treated. Cobra is very expensive, and without insurance she will not be able to get the care she needs. Anything helps, and Im just trying to raise funds to help the financial burden. All funds will go towards medical expenses and care. Thanks in advance.
