Ellie is volunteering in Cambodia!

My name is Ellie Cain and in summer 2014 I will be volunteering in Cambodia for a month to make a positive contribution and hopefully transform the lives of the children there through education. I am doing this through Original Volunteers. By paying the registration fee, they provide my accomodation and an English speaking co-ordinator but I must rely on the kind donations of the public along with hosting fundraising events to pay for my flights, visa, injections and meals while I am there.

In addition to this, I would be delighted if I could take some educational materials over for the children. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of this project and I am eager to help make a difference.

Dirty water is the biggest killer in Cambodia - almost 70% of people do not have access to clean water. 10% of children will not make it past their first birthday; mainly due to water-borne diseases. If I surpass my fundraising target, future donations will go to the Tabitha Foundation in order to build water wells for the rural areas of Cambodia. This will make a permanent difference in people's lives.
