TED’S MEDICAL AND RECOVERY FUND

Hi everyone my name is Mary Beth Lawrence and we need your help ! We are creating this fundraiser for our Best Friend Ted Chase to try to help him with medical bills and cost of living while he begins the long, difficult, challenging recovery process after having a Massive Stroke at only 37 years old. On Monday December 28th Ted’s day started out like any other, little did he know that afternoon would forever change his life ! It all started out with his left arm feeling weird/numb then that same feeling took over the left side of his face. After talking to his Girlfriend, friends, and family he was finally convinced to go in the the SWGH Emergency Room. After arriving to the hospital that sensation took over the entire left side of his body from head to toe and he started to experience extreme pain in his right eye. They immediately took him for a CT scan and an MRI where they found bleeding in his brain. The diagnosis was told to be a Right Thalamic Intracranial Hemorrhage,( in non medical terms a STROKE). Although his is not what people normally think when they hear someone had a stroke, his was caused by the bleeding in his brain and not from a blood clot which is the usual cause. Doctors are still unaware of the cause of all of this and have been working very hard to figure it everything out. Since all of this has happened Ted had been in the Neuroscience ICU at UH Main Campus. Once he can be settled into a step down unit they will determine the next steps. Which will at some point include him moving into a rehabilitation facility for intense therapy to hopefully help him regain a little bit of his old self. He still does not have sensation throughout his whole left side, but we are all trying to keep his spirits up. If you would be so kind and find it in your hearts to help Ted during this difficult time it would be greatly appreciated, as he does not currently have medical insurance and will be out of work with No Pay for an unforeseen amount of time.
