My good friend & amazing single mom Jessica needs $10,000 for a first round of specialized surgeries to treat her aggressive adipose tissue disorder.
I have known Jessica for over 20 years & she is truly AMAZING and one of my favorite people in the entire world. She is fun, energetic & one of the most loving humans I have ever met. Life has been a rough road for Jessica starting when her son, Jonah, was born with two rare blood disorders. Jonah is the only person on earth at this time that has these two disorders. Jonah has undergone open-heart surgery and has received over 100 blood transfusions to keep him alive. Jonah needs a bone marrow transplant but hasn't found a match yet due to his complicated blood disorder. Jessica spends thousands of dollars each year in medical bills and puts all of her time & energy into helping Jonah live.
Unfortunately, Jessica has been diagnosed with an aggressive type of Lipedema, a disease that has not been understood until recently. It is a condition characterized by abnormal deposition of adipose tissue in the lower extremities leading to lower extremity enlargement typically seen extending from the hips to the ankles. It can also effect the arms and torso as in Jessica’s case. The final stage, without treatment, is immobility and can cause death. Jessica is in the advanced stages of this disease & desperately needs surgery to relieve pressure & pain from her knees & ankles so that she can keep the use of her legs. She is facing being in a wheelchair soon if surgery is not done as soon as possible. Unfortunately this surgery is not covered by insurance.
Please help this wonderful single mother to be able to continue caring for her children and carry on the fight for her son.
