Lisa's Pancreatic Cancer Odyssey
Donation protected
Hello! I am writing you in hopes that you will support a dear friend, co-worker, and mother of five (two of them fur babies) in her greatest time of need. Lisa is a part of my work family and anyone who knows her knows she is a ray of sunshine (she IS the sun)! She is a kind soul that brings light and positive energy to everyone she meets! We have worked together for five years and in that short amount of time I have seen her touch the lives of many with her compassion and kindness to both animals and people at the vet clinic that we work at together. She is a favorite receptionist among our clients as she always has a smile & kind words for everyone. It was with great sadness that we learned Lisa was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Lisa went to the doctor on April 14th for dilation of vessels and a mass on her chest...she had also had a decrease in appetite and lost around thirty pounds by that time. After waiting for the results of multiple blood tests, scans, and a surgical biopsy of the mass Lisa was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable pancreatic adenocarcinoma on April 20th. The prognosis she was given was around four months without treatment and one year with aggressive chemotherapy. She took the diagnosis in stride, maintained her positive outlook on life, and decided she was going to bravely fight this!
The “Go Fund Me" donations will go towards the cost of the needed chemotherapy treatments that are becoming insurmountable, as health insurance only covers a percentage of the costs. One chemotherapy treatment in itself is $70,000...this is excluding the cost of all the doctors appointments, surgical procedures, biopsies, bloodwork, imaging and other diagnostic tests needed. She has already had two rounds of chemo treatments and is scheduled for many more. The goal is to lighten the financial burden as soon as possible so that Lisa and her wife can enjoy their time together and not stress about money.
For all of you that have ever been shown Lisa’s generosity and kindness, now is your chance to reciprocate and show her some LOVE & SUPPORT!!!! I am asking you to help her in ANY way that you can! Send her positive vibes, leave her an uplifting message on here, or make a donation. Big donations are great, but even if you can only afford a small amount $10 to $20 per person can really add up! Thank you for all your support...it is greatly appreciated!
