Help Devin Through His Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
I’m humbly asking for donations to help my son. In early October 2020 our oldest son Devin noticed an abnormality on his body. This worried him. He went to a clinic to be seen by a physician. He was referred to have an ultrasound done and referred to a urologist. On October 29, Devin had an appointment with the urologist and had bloodwork drawn for testing. The morning of Monday November 2, he received a call from the urologist urging him to go to a referred emergency room because his blood was showing high levels of tumor indicators and was very concerning. So much so that they said he would likely undergo emergency surgery to remove the tumor. They needed a CT scan performed immediately to determine its size and how far spread the cancer is. During the time of COVID, immediately in an emergency room is a full day affair. Luckily Devin’s urologist had already spoken to a colleague and fellow urology surgeon to care for him. It took all day waiting for a room to become available and to have a CT scan performed. Later in the evening he was admitted. Had the CT scan done and waited to hear from the doctor regarding the results. As we drove home Devin got a call from the doctor. Then the doctor called us. At that moment our worst fear was confirmed. Devin at the young age of 25 is diagnosed with testicular cancer and will have to undergo surgery to remove the tumor and a series of chemotherapy to destroy the cancer cells that have already spread. He underwent a successful surgery and recovered fully. He is now going through chemotherapy treatment. Since that early morning of November 2 Devin has not been able to work his job at Target. He has had to stop working but his financial responsibilities continue. He has rent to pay, credit card payments, and now medical expenses. He does not have health insurance through his employer but instead has to buy a personal policy with a large deductible and copays. Devin’s savings is nearly gone and he cannot return to work for the foreseeable future. He does plan to return to work once his battle with cancer is won. His body is strong again. When COVID is less of a threat to his susceptible immune system. It is for this reason I am reaching out to you. I am asking for donations to help relieve some of Devin’s worries about his financial responsibilities in order for him to focus on his fight against cancer and recovery. A donation of as little or as much as you are able to do would be greatly appreciated.
