Nikki & Jon's fight back to life

Donation protected
This sudden onset illness beginning January 24th has brought me to my knees. Nearly 5 months spent trying to determine what's had me so ill and bedridden, unable to walk or get myself out of bed without assistance much of the time. Several ER visits and hospital stays only to be sent home to die. My fiance quit his OTR trucking driving job to care for me and be available for the ever-looming ER trip. It should have been temporary. This should have been figured out months ago and we should have our lives back. But it hasn't turned out that way. He subsequently became deathly ill with hemorrhagic colitis, as a consequence of quitting smoking for my benefit, and has also been in and out of the hospital, with both of us hospitalized simultaneously recently. He's on the road to recovery now, with medications that cost $1000/month out of pocket. We've not had an income in 2 months. Every dollar spent on any and everything has gone on our credit cards. They'll be maxed out soon at this rate. Meanwhile, after months of being my own advocate and searching for answers, I've received a diagnosis of Lyme disease and am only just now beginning treatment. I have specialized testing coming up that will cost $1000 dollars. The loss of income, medical expenses, and daily living expenses have reached crisis proportions. Jon is hoping to have his health restored soon and be able to return to work locally so as to remain available to me. We don't have a home we can live in as we'd been living on the road until I became ill. My daughter has put us up on her couches in her little apartment where we can be close to the hospital. My, and Jon's, illness has been a terrible inconvenience for all of us. The stress of the uncertainties and the financial crisis makes hope for recovery hard to maintain. Financial stress is a terrible burden to bear, in addition to the stress and unknowns of being so ill, when one needs to be focused on diagnosis, treatment, and healing. As I said, brought to my knees. And that's what brings us to this point. We've put it off and put it off, thinking we could avoid this route. In actuality we should've started this sooner, but we didn't know how bad and how long this plague on our lives was going to last. And to be quite honest, for awhile there, neither of us have thought we were going to live through our illnesses long enough to get this financially critical. But he has a path to wellness that is coming along slowly but surely and I at least have a diagnosis now. We're ready to fight. Our granddaughter needs us to fight. It sucks that money has to be an obstacle in our fight. We're ordinarily the ones helping others in their fights and struggles. We want to be in that position again, soon! Thank you in advance for however you may be able to assist.
