Louis's Cancer Surgery

I'm Amanda...aka Louis's mom. Louis is my 5 year old pit bull/mastiff mix who has been by my side since he was 3 months old. More people probably recognize his face than mine, he's a pretty popular guy....

Recently Louis has developed several small lumps that we had aspirated at the vet; it turns out every lump is cancer. My heart is broken. My friend is sick and he needs surgery. The best plan is to move forward quickly and remove all of the lumps - surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, June 21st.

What Louis has are mast cell tumors. This type of cancer is graded I, II and III with I being mild/benign and III being a severe disease process. We won't know what grade his tumors are until they're removed and the tissue can be tested. If they are grade I, excision is usually curative - that means once those jerks are gone Louis will be fine! I'm hopeful this is the result we'll get post-op.

Best case scenario, between surgery and money already spent to get a diagnosis, this will likely be at least $2000. Louis is my baby and I'll go forward regardless of donations, but any contribution is so unbelievably appreciated. Louis will DEFINITELY share his thanks with kisses and snuggles...mine will come in the form of tears and hugs. 


They say Louis will look like a Frankenstein dog after surgery...good thing he's got so many great friends to love him despite his freakish appearance. If you can't or don't want to contribute, please just send us your positive energy - Louis will give you kisses for that too.
