I am Diana Franzoni Murphy. I am opening this go fund me account for my sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Steve O'neill. This past Wednesday Steve went for a doctor's appointment due to having indigestion. (His only symptom.) He then had a stress test on Thursday, was immediately admitted to Glens Falls Hospital and transported via ambulance to Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was told he had severe heart disease. On Friday morning, June 10, he underwent "Cabbage 5 Surgery" . In other words, he had 5 bypasses to his heart that were 90% blocked. He is 52 years old and this is absolutley shocking to us all.
He is a Chef at Up River Cafe. He will be out of work for 3-6 months; which means no income. They have 14 year old twins, Kendall and Ryan, and a 12 year old daughter, Blair. Debbie works fulltime at Queensbury school til the end of June and then fulltime at the Fort William Henry for the summer. He will be applying for disability but we know that isn't much.
Other than this being an emotional strain, it will be a huge financial strain to them as well. They don't know I'm opening this but I just want to help.
He did well with the surgery, but it's going to be a long road to recovery. If there's anything you could do, I know it would be greatly appreciated. They are both very hard workers. Summer is the time they work overtime and support their family and this is just a horrifying thing to go through. Thank you for everyone's kind words and support to Debbie, Steve, Kendall, Ryan and Blair. With a lot of love and prayers they will get through this. Thank you.
