Local Investigative Journalism

In one year, QuorumColumbia.org has launched two FBI and State Attorney General investigations, generated 11 indictments for fraudulent use of public money and seen Gov. Nilkki Haley remove a sitting special-purpose tax district board after reporting from this site.
Additionally, Quorum's work has been recognized regionlaly. It won Grand Prize Runner Up in the Overall Professional Category for investigative reporting in a competition by the Society of Professional Journalists that covered six states. Quorum finished behing the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and ahead of the Charleston Post & Courier, two Pulitzer Prize-winning papers.
To continue, however, this goal must be reached. Quorum is on the cusp of long-term success; it just needs one final push from those who believe this kind of work is necessary right here where we call home.
Thank you,
Ron Aiken
