Go for Lisa!

We are raising money to support Lisa Harvey. Lisa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2014, while working at VCU Health Systems. One day, while leaving home for a chemotherapy treatment,  Lisa slipped on ice and broke her ankle. Lisa continued with her chemotherapy treatments and later underwent a double mastectomy and numerous hospitalizations. In addition  to working at VCU Health Systems and caring for her toddler. After falling extremely ill and experiencing an extended hospitalization followed by a nursing home admission, Lisa lost her job and all of her benefits, including her disability income. Soon after her release she  obtained a job at a temporary agency in an attempt to pay the mortgage on her recently purchased home as well as other basic needs for she and her daughter. One day while working for the temporary agency, she experienced a sharp pain in her ankle and discovered that the hardware used to repair her ankle was exposed through her foot as it was badly infected. Unfortunately, Lisa was hospitalized again and informed the infection had worsened. During yet another extended hospitalization and rehab stay Lisa developed kidney disease related to the antibiotic therapy. Due to the progression of the infection, Lisa was advised by her physicians that she would need an amputation. Through this process,Lisa has been denied Social Security benefit and any other form of financial public assistance. Lisa and her 3 year old, sweet daughter, Kennedi have no income, a long road ahead, and no means of generating income. The amputation is scheduled for surgery for June 30th.
Lisa is a strong woman and has always been independent and hardworking. When I first met Lisa, she held one full time job and two additional part time jobs. She has never been afraid of hardwork or a challenge to better herself. To say the absolute least, this has been a set back. Lisa desperately needs the help of you, her friends in this moment of need. Believe me, she would not ask you unless she truly and absolutely needed your help.
