Richard MardiGras Madrigal Memorial

Richard "Mardi Gras" Madrigal was my brother. He touched so many lives in his short 33 years. He was a kind and unique soul whose entire existence was dedicated to making others happy.

He had his trials and tribulations like anyone else, but he managed to do what most others only talk about: he completely changed his life around for the love of his life, his daughter Mikayla.

He was working on the last fifteen hours of his degree, and was to graduate summa cumme laude from the University of Texas El Paso in December.

Richard was taken from us this weekend in a senseless act of violence. In his wake, we have come to know he was so much more than we ever realized. The outpouring of love and admiration from hundreds upon hundreds of friends from all walks of life has humbled us, his family, beyond words.

You see, Richard was an extrovert of the highest order, but he was far from an egomaniac. He played the fool, the clown, the center of attention, the comic relief, the loud boisterous voice in the crowd. He played any role for any one with the simple goal of making them smile, making them laugh. His charisma and zest for life were as infectious as his smile. He was truly selfless when it came to the happiness of those around him.

We ask that the gofundme, El Paso, Las Cruces, and UTEP communities please assist the family with final expenses and support for his daughter.

Thank you.
