Memorial Bench for Dr. Pete Davis
Donation protected
Hi all. On January 14th, 2021, Dr Davis went to be with the Lord.
Dr Pete Davis was a huge part of the St. John's neighborhood and owned the St. John's Veterinary Clinic since the 70s. He was an avid lover of animals. His heart and spirit were vibrant until the day he passed. Many times, he would help those who couldnt afford to pay, and also assisted Multnomah County Animal Services when they would pick up wild animals hurt or injured near the clinic to make sure no animals were left in pain. As Karen Davis said, "his clients loved him, but I just hope his clients know how much he loved them. They were his life." Dr Davis had to close the clinic in March 2020 due to COVID19 and the high risk many people working there including himself would be in. He didnt let it stop him. An old school, no computer using, man he continued going to the clinic and doing what he could to help clients. Even alone, and only a couple days a week, he did what he could for his clients. As he would say "im no spring chicken", even though his witt didnt age a day. His favorite thing to say to clients was to "get out there and enjoy that sunshine!" He truly loved seeing people enjoy the day with their animals. We are hoping to place a memorial bench outside of the clinic, in memory of Dr Davis for people to "Enjoy the sunshine". Due to the shut down of the clinic, bills had piled up and the sudden unexpected passing of Dr Davis couldn't have been at a worst time. Any excess funds donated to the bench fund will be applied to help pay for Dr Davis' headstone to be laid to rest.
thank you for all your kindness to Karen and the family at this time. I was a receptionist at the clinic and was one who helped him during the shut down as much as i could. Now I have committed to helping Karen get as many records copied for clients as I can. Happy to do it, for Dr Davis...
