Root for Scoot!

Donation protected

Hi everyone,

We are once again fundraising for Michael “Scoot” Salter who was diagnosed at the age of 2 with brain cancer in the summer of 2018.  Though the cancer was aggressive and had also spread to Scoot’s spine, he fought like a true super hero throughout his chemo, stem-cell, and radiation treatments!  With his strength and resilience, the help of his wonderful treatment team at Lurie’s hospital as well the love and support of his parents, family, and friends, Scoot stayed cancer free for 18 months.  During this time he was able to learn, grow, and play as any child would!

Unfortunately at his latest scan, our worst fears came to life as it was discovered that Scoot has another tumor in a different spot on his brain.  This of course has been devastating news, however we are hopeful that his tremendous strength and ability to overcome will win this battle with cancer again!

We are asking for support via this fundraiser in order to help raise money for Scoot’s family as his parents have already had to take time off of work and will continue to need to do so during Scoot’s year long treatment.  Money donated will go to gas for the long ride downtown, warm meals, Chicago parking expenses, hotel stays, babysitting or dog sitting care for Scoot’s little brother and dog, other household expenses, and any additional medical expenses they may incur.

Scoot and his family want to thank everyone in advance for any assistance provided during this difficult time!
