Hurricane Ida Deadly Living Conditions and Medical
Donation protected
Hello everyone; in addition to my younger brother Ramzy sharing his story below, I'd like to note that things have just gotten much harder for us due to severe damages suffered during Hurricane Ida.
The loss of power and heavy wind/rain has caused so much condensation and *potentially deadly* black mold growth, major ceiling leaks destroying much of my art and sentimental pictures and property, walls peeling off, doors, trees, and fences down, huge holes in the ceiling and walls with all sorts of critters pouring in, and overall devastating and unsafe living conditions.
We've made the best of living in a house that needed to be torn down decades ago, but the conditions are causing the already sick people here to suffer and deteriorate faster. It is hard to breathe the air here, especially for my 21 year old sister with heart failure and diabetic brother.
We absolutely MUST rebuild as soon as we can, before it's too late and much worse things happen. Every simple task is a huge struggle in this house, and all of our potential is being wasted by the minute.
I have been the main provider and supporter for my mom and seven younger siblings since my dad left the family. I can't continue doing this alone. I don't have time to work on my art or photography anymore and it's destroying my mental health and my life. But I can't leave them like this.
This was originally a page for my brother's medical treatment. Read on or message me if you want to learn more about that.
It has been a continuous challenge for Ramzy to live with chronic heart troubles, complex posttraumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), treatment-resistent depression, chronic debilitating pain and insomnia, the consequences of severe past abuse, and multiple other mental and physical ailments. He considers getting through each day to be an accomplishment.
Ramzy's condition has taken a serious toll on our family in so many ways, with constant, often extremely scary daily visits to the emergency room, ICU, and endless doctor's appointments.
Our brother is one of the smartest, kindest, most generous and talented people we know, and if he is able to get the medical help he needs, he could potentially recover and contribute greatly to the world.
He was a straight A+ honor-roll student throughout school, gifted at computer programming, and had hopes to become a doctor and computer programmer before his illnesses took over his life. He still aspires to achieve these goals in the near future if he can receive necessary medical care and recover.
Currently, his Medicaid is only covering a small portion of the treatments he needs for his heart and his other physical and mental health conditions. Some of us work up to 4 or 5 jobs seven days a week to help support Ramzy and keep him here with us where we need him.
It is becoming nearly impossible to go on like this without any breaks; however, and it is causing the rest of us to become worn out and sick as well. So we are beyond grateful and appreciative for any sort of support, even if just sharing the link or sending a caring message.
If any supporters have any questions about Ramzy's condition and medical treatments, feel free to message me and I am happy to answer.
Thank you to all who have helped support Ramzy so far. It means the world to us and we hope and pray your kindness will come back to you times a million!
Sending love and blessings to all of you,
Sincerely,
The Jarushi family
