Residency in Athens!!!

SYROS SOUND RESIDENCY AWARD!!!


Hello Friends, my name is joshua carro and i am a sound artist living in Los Angeles, CA.  i have officially been accepted to my first residency in Athens at the Syros Sound Meeting! During this intensive 10 day period from 7/22-7/31 at the Old Jesuit Convent (built in 1581), i will be building my hour long audio/visual album as a 3rd release under the moniker [[[personablack]]] which will be published online and on a record label.

ABOUT [[[personablack]]]
[[[personablack]]] is a solo-electroacoustic project that cross-pollinates from every genre with a focus on experimental, metal, classical, noise, dark pop, drone, and shoegaze.  a new stream of sound art that will eventually become the next wave of the musical evolution. a truly free expression that opens an awareness to our current state as a species and our relationship to the cosmos.

Funds are needed immediately so i can get a plane ticket!!!The donations will be used  primarily for travel and lodging.  This residency is amazing because it offers so much at such a low cost but if you are coming from outside Athens it can be expensive and very difficult to arrange.  (especially coming from humble beginnings)

ABOUT SYRO SOUND MEETINGS

Launched in the summer of 2012, Syros Sound Meetings are a self-funded initiative for intensive site-specific workshops and exploratory group meetings, held at the recently established Syros Institute in Ano Syros, Cyclades, Greece. Sound Meetings comprise workshops and artist residencies scheduled to take place one to three times a year, and revolving around three broad themes and the intersections between them:

Improvisation
Composition & sound design
Field recordings

In addition to the album download, as an additional thank you i plan on keeping in touch with every patron with updates for tours, shows, upcoming releases, and awards.  Your donations will go so far for such a small amount and will help me greatly to achieve this dream!!!
