Dan Shriver's Family Fund

In February of 2015 Dan Shriver started experiencing confusion and inability to speak, a trip to the emergency room immediately discovered a brain tumor and Dan was sent by ambulance to Roswell park cancer institute in Buffalo NY. His diagnosis was stage 4 glioblastoma and emergency surgery was scheduled. 
Surgeons were unable to remove the whole tumor because of the location and risk involved, so radiation and chemotherapy was started.  In Dec 2015, Dan began experiencing the same symptoms and they discovered that the tumor had grown back. He underwent a second surgery to remove only a portion of the tumor that they were able to do safely and he continued treatment. Since that time he has had two additional surgeries associated with his tumor. In May 2016, the Shriver family was informed that additional surgeries were no longer an option.  When Dan was originally diagnosed in Feb 2015 he was told that average life expectancy is 12 to 14 months, Dan is now in his 16th month and fighting each
and every day.

Dan and Lisa Shriver have been married for 29 years and have 3 children, Jessica, Jennifer and David.
With David still in high school and Jennifer in college they are starting to feel the financial impact of Dan’s illness. With Dan no longer able to work and Lisa having to take extensive time off to care for Dan, the financial pressures are mounting.

Dan and Lisa have worked hard their entire lives and have always been supportive whenever anyone was in need. We are hoping that our friends and families are
able to do the same for them.
