Bron's Cancer Free Trip
Donation protected
On June 16th, 2016, my girlfriend of 3 years, Bronwyn, was diagnosed with lymphoma. She had been experiencing symptoms for 8 months including unexplained weight loss, anaemia and reduced appetite. Finally, after a mulitiude of tests, we have our diagnosis and the path to recovery. It's hard to describe the toll this has taken on her, both emotionally, mentally and physically. As I currently write this, she has trouble standing for long periods of time, has lost over 100 lbs and is in constant pain. Her spleen is currently 2.5 times the regular size
As someone who has spent the last year and 3 months living with her, i can attest that because of the lymphoma she is not the same person as she was. With all the pain medication and uncertainity surrounding the diagnosis, We had many rough nights and lots of long talks about what the rest of our life would/will be like.
I want this page to be a surprise to her, she cannot know about this and after she has completed the 6 months of chemotherapy in Deceomber and they have shrunk her spleen, she will hopefully be declared Cancer free. I want to use whatever is raised here to help pay for a trip for her to somehwere warm and sandy. She is already overwhelmed with everyone's love and support and when I tell her I booked a Christmas trip for her in which all of our friends helped pay for will show her that she was never alone in this. I also plan on making a matching donation from myself of whatever amount is raised here to a Cancer charity or giving it to the Tom Baker Centre as they have been great so far with everything.
Words cannot express how grateful and lucky we both are to have such great friends we consider family
