Vietnam Veteran & Family Need Home

On the night of June 14th, a dangerous storm rocked the small town of Lowry City and left neighbors who I grew up with across the street...homeless.
Bob Hill is not only a loving family man, but also a respected Vietnam Veteran. His declining health after two heart attacks and now enduring dialysis every two days has left him and his wife to survive on a social security and disability income.
Their granddaughter, Austen, is a frequent visitor at my parents house and is considered part of the family! She's a joy for my parent's kids and grandkids to be around, which is why this situation has left me completely heart broken and compelled to do something to get this family back into a home.
Austen called my dad bawling the night of the storm when a tree came crashing into the bedroom where her sister was laying. It was a miracle the window's glass didn't land on her. My dad drove over to their home to pick them up so they would have shelter that night. He didn't want them walking because several power lines were down.
The American Red Cross showed up the next day and the Hill family was given two nights at a hotel in Clinton. Although we're grateful for that help, what are they to do after the two nights? Their trailer has been paid off for a long time and the Hill's did not have it insured. The trailer is a total loss, inhabitable.
My goal is to raise enough funds so that the Hill's can have their damaged trailer removed, and a replacement moved back to their lot. I have searched for several trailers online, and believe if we can raise at least $16,500, it would be a significant relief and a blessing for this family.
Let's take care of our neighbors! We need your help. This Veteran and his family need a roof over their head and with enough love and support from the Lowry City community and surrounding areas, we can get them back into a home.
Thank you and God Bless!
