Help Lisa Win The Battle!
Lisa Wernert is a very loved wife and mother of 3 children. Lisa was recently diagnosed with 2 rare lung conditions. The first is pulmonary alveolar proteinosis
(PAP for short). This condition interfers with the gas exchange in the lungs. Only 3.7 people per million have been diagnosed with this. The second condition is known as plastic bronchitis. This is when holes are found in the lymphnatic system which form casts in the lungs that block the airways. Lisa is the first known documented case with both conditions at the same time.
Lisa has been battling these conditions for many years undiagnosed or with an incorrect diagnosis. She was recently refered to Dr. Courey at the University of Michigan Hospital where he diagnosed her with these conditions. Since being diagnosed she has been in and out of the ICU since May of 2015. Lisa has had what they call lung lavages. This is when they go in and clear the blockages and rinse the lung. This only works temporarily. Not only is the U of M using this as a huge educational experience to diagnose those in the future but they are trying everything they can to get her well enough to travel to Philadelphia. Philadelphia is the closest to our family that has the equipment and doctors that can perform the surgeries that Lisa needs.
With your help and support we would not only like to raise money for our family but to raise awarness of these rare conditions. Please help Lisa fight her battle!
