Help my son get his life back
Donation protected
I am Stacy Childress. My son was 23 years old, a 4th year electrician apprentice who loved his job, loved mechanic work, driving cars, motorcycles, boats and jet skis. He enjoyed construction and all forms of outdoor activities. He was very strong and athletic. His life was just starting when it was cut down by ruthless thieves during a home invasion robbery. They beat him in the head with a tire tool which caused a stroke due to severe brain trauma leaving him paralyzed on the left side of his body (hemiplegic), legally blind and prone to tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures. His quality of life has diminished severely even though he has completed many courses of rehabilitation. He lives with pain everyday that cannot be controlled with medications. The doctors say what he has recovered at this point is all he will ever regain. The extent of his recovery is his ability to walk short distances. No longer can he shower or use the toilet without assistance, in fact most of his activities of daily living require assistance. He has no use of his left arm nor his left leg, he no longer can work as an electrician,
drive a vehicle, motorcycle or jet ski, cannot swim or camp nor can he do any of the things he used to enjoy so very much. The fear of seizures or a fall causing further injury is overwhelming for him. While doing research, we found in Florida, a new treatment available that can possibly reverse the paralysis and give him a second chance at a somewhat normal life. The results we witnessed have been amazing! Unfortunately the insurance does not cover this new treatment and it is quite costly. I am asking for donations to help cover the cost of the treatment and the extended stay required to participate. We pray you find it in your hearts to donate to my son's treatment and any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
