On 29th July at about 3pm, Cyril answered the door of his flat in an elderly persons block, in Sittingbourne, Kent, to a man claiming that he was there to check a gas leak in the building and they needed to check his pipes.
Whilst the man distracted him in the kitchen with his supposed check, someone else had slipped in, opening drawers in the other room, and stole £1500 of his savings.
Cyril is 90 years old this September...He has little or no hope of replenishing this amount as he only receives a basic state pension and has no belongings of any worth.
