Help for my friend, Karen Beal

On May 12th 2008, my dearest friend of over forty years, Karen Smith Beal,  and her family,  had their lives saved!  Their neighbor happened to wake up in the middle of the night and looked out her window to see the Beal's roof on fire.  She ran across the street and pounded on their door until they woke up and escaped to safety.  Most of their belongings were lost to fire, smoke and water damage.  The family retreated to a motel for several weeks until they could find a suitable home.  Even to this day, the smell of smoke strikes terror in them.  Only eighteen months after the fire, Karen's husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away just two weeks after his diagnosis.  Karen was way too young to be a widow and her daughter too young to lose her beloved dad. 

Karen and her daughter have struggled to stay afloat financially for the past six years but have fallen on very hard times.  As of September 1st 2015, they will again be losing their home.  The two of them have the biggest hearts and no one ever leaves their home without a home cooked goody tucked into their hand or a bag full of treasures for the little ones in their life. 

It is my hope that we can raise some money for Karen and her daughter to help them catch up on their bills and enough to secure a deposit and first month's rent on an apartment.  I've always been amazed at Karen's ability to stretch a dollar and I know even the smallest amount donated would be appreciated!   We can do this!!!
