Support for the Family of Scot Ames
1Lt Scot Ames lost his life while flying the T-38C aircraft on February 19, 2021. He was taken too soon from this world. He is survived by his parents and family, and his treasured wife, Audra.
Every morning, Scot told Audra, “Wake up, it’s a beautiful day to smile that big ole’ gorgeous smile, and do one thing better today than you did yesterday.” He was the type of person who lived that advice. Scot and Audra met almost three years ago to the day, and it was those smiles that not only brought them together, but kept them together throughout the distance and rigors of Scot’s training as a student pilot. Not only will his infectious smile be missed at home, but it will also be missed at work.
Scot loved flying, and it showed in his face every day when he came into the 50th Flying Training Squadron. As an instructor pilot, he was a man dedicated to his craft. Flying was something that Scot desired from his childhood. When he was a sophomore in high school, he told his mother that he wanted to fly jets in the United States Air Force. Many dream big dreams and do little besides dream, but Scot was one of the few who chased his dreams and captured them.
Nothing in this world can replace what has been lost. But above all, we hope this support can represent to Audra and the rest of Scot’s family that they do not grieve alone.
All support from this effort will go directly to Scot’s family to assist them during this difficult time. Your contributions toward easing their burdens is deeply appreciated by Scot’s family. He will always be a light in our lives.
Fly high and fly fast.
