Gabby the Golden's ACL Surgery

Hello Everyone,
My name is Melissa Fanning, and I am the proud parent of Gabby,the Golden Retriever. We adopted her from Golden Ribbon Rescue of Austin in October 2012. Gabby completed our family of four! Gabby was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 2014 and gained a significant amount of weight, but no matter what we loved her! She was put on medication to stabilize her thyroid. Because of all of the excess weight, she ruptured her CCL, how our Vet explained it, would be comparable to our ACL. The Vet recommended surgery! I found a place in Austin, Veterinary Surgical Solutions, who gave us hope that this procedure is possible. This is the quote that we received from them:
TPLO- $2,329.25 to $2,459.75
These estimates account for bloodwork the day of surgery, an epidural, anesthesia, the procedure, the implants used, take home pain management along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication, an E-collar, pre and post operative x-rays.
Because we have a young family, we have had some unexpected expenses with my daughter as well. She had to have an unexpected emergancy oral surgery, which was $4000.00 out-of-pocket. This is the part that insurance would not cover.
This surgery would mean so much to Gabby and our family. Without it, her overall health will decline and she will be unable to live a beautiful life that she so deserves. Gabby has been an instrumental part of our lives to help my son and daughter heal after the sudden loss of their grandmother in 2012.
