Alittle about myself Im a Mother and a wife first and family means everything to me. I am also an IFBB Professional female body builder I have been blessed with a darling little girl that is now 3 and full of life and deserves a mother that is well and healthy.
This all began with headaches which eventually turned into 4 days of brutal migraines along with that I began running a very high fever reaching 105 degrees a few times. The pain was intolerable I finally went to insta care where they gave me three injections and assured me I would wake up feeling much better. Although I did finally have a good nights sleep I woke up in more pain and my head was killing me.
I was forced to go to the ER it was there they were certain I had meningitis. The only was to test for this is a lumbar puncture (not fun) It took her a while to get me numb and she actually attempted getting fluid 5 times. Passing out during the procedure I woke up to find thankfully it was over. The spinal fluid came back fine no sign of meningitis or MS (my mother has MS). The Er doctor then decided she would treat this as a severe sinus infection although I was not showing any symptoms except the headache and fever. I left the Er with some relief after the pain meds and first dose of antibiotics.
I awoke the next morning pleasantly surprised I only had a minor headache nothing a few tylenol couldnt fix. Finally half human again and able to be the mother my baby girl deserves. We had a great morning making pancakes and watching paw patrol. Started doing my usual Sat houe hold chores and about 4pm some dramatic changes. I noticed while laughing at my daughter playing in the yard I couldnt smile properly. I immediately ran into the house to look in the mirror my right eye was not blinking and my ear was ringing. My first thoughts were no im sure this is fine and then it set in could I be having a stroke? Looking out the window at my sweet baby girl I couldnt risk it she needs her mommy. So back to the Er they also suspected stroke I went in for an immediate MRA and multiple MRI's everything looked fine on the scan. but what about my half paralyzed face. I felt like we had more questions than answers and things were getting worse. I could no longer speak properly or taste anything, smile or blink, now the worry of the eye that cant blink trying to keep it moist in fear of possibly loosing it.
The Er doctor had run every blood text imaginable and did mention bells palsy a term that I have heard a few times although he was thrown for a bit of a loop because of my high fever and intense migraines. These are not signs of bells palsy. Could it be west nile virus, lyme disease or just a broad virus that really got a hold of me. These are still questions that I dont have answers to. Im trying to remain positive and hoping that this resolves itself but Im also a realistic person and have to acknowledge that this may never go back to "normal"
For now and my reason for setting up this account is I do have medical insurance thankfully but unfortunately I am on a high deductible plan and in order to get further treatment the deductible of 6,000$ has to be paid before the insuracnce will continue to cover my future expenses. Any little bit will help I really just want to get to the bottom of this and carry on being the Mother and professional body builder I once was. I feel like I still have so much room to grow and improve in my career of bodybuilding I can not go out like this.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for every single donaltion no matter how large or how small.
