Heather had a MRI that showed a bleed. She has been diagnosed with Cerebral Cavernoma. That's a cluster of abnormal blood vessels that are found in the brain. It's bleeding into the brain stem. The swelling is what is causing the symptoms she is having. They have ordered IV steroids to reduce the swelling which will help with the headache, numbness and all the other symptoms. The dr has said she can't work, drive, or do anything but rest. Heather of course told the dr she has to work and he told her we'd talk about that later. (Hard headed) This is in a part of the brain that they don't prefer to do surgery on as it controls function in many parts of the body. The dr said she is extremely stable and doesn't need any other medications or surgery. A neurosurgeon will review the MRI and determine if anything additional needs to be done. She was advised to see a neurosurgeon at Vanderbilt in the next week as this can be an ongoing issue. (Could clear up and happen again in 2 yrs) Please continue to pray for her, Stuart, and the kids. The earliest she will get released from the hospital is tomorrow afternoon but could be Thursday. Please let her rest and follow fb for updates. Thank you all for your prayers.
