Help Ogie Recover from Parvo
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
On Tuesday, February 23rd we fostered a puppy that initially tested negative for parvo. As days went by, the puppy fell ill and was retested again and unfortunately came out positive; the poor puppy passed a couple of days later. Ogie and the puppy have been in the same room for a day or two. On Tuesday, March 2nd Ogie had thrown up several times and was lethargic. We brought him to the vet, he had a fever and refused to eat. He was given IV fluids and some blood work was done and was sent home. The results of the blood work showed that his pancreatic levels were elevated (see attached photo), we thought it had been pancreatitis because it is rare for a 2 year old, vaccinated dog to get the parvo virus. We eventually tested for parvo and was positive. We took him to the emergency vet and they gave us an estimated $4,000 for 48 hours of care. Unfortunately, this is a lot to shoulder especially during these trying times.
Ogie means a lot to me, my family and whole lotta people. Though he is only a small, white, crusty dog he makes everyone feel so happy and loved with his energy and companion. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for any love and support
