100,000 PRESS UPS, 100,000m ULTRA for MS
100,000 press ups for the MS society
In 2024 I am going to do 100,000 press ups for charity and try to raise £10,000 in the process. That’s 10p for every press up and around 274 press ups per day…
In January 2023, I managed to raise around £2500 for the MS society doing 100 press ups a day. I found this challenge a pivotal moment in my personal fitness as it set off this daily routine that I never thought would be so beneficial in my life. So, February 1st hit and I decided to carry on. Fast forward to June 2023 and I was still doing 100 press ups a day. To challenge myself further, I doubled it to 200 a day. And managed to keep this up until now (28th December).
Don’t get me wrong, a few days, I didn’t do the 200. But, I always made up for it and completed the leftover ones. There was a few bad moments personally with my Mum who suffers from MS where my mind was all over the place.
My mum suffers from MS which stands for Multiple Sclerosis and is a slow degenerative condition. Unfortunately, mums disease got worse in the last few years and she spent 3 weeks in hospital before Christmas and almost didn’t pull through. The condition is so debilitating and such an energy drain - bless her.
However she has picked up a tad! And is back home which is where she belongs which is amazing. But, this still highlights the fact that the disease is such a degenerative condition which people really suffer terribly from.
As a side bar, I’m writing this whilst flying to Colombia for a few weeks solo travelling so the first few days will have to be on some of the hostel makeshift gyms or floors. I also still have my 200 to do today and am staring at a space on the planes floor wanting to drop down and get some done but the plane is completely full!
In 2023, I have done 55,000 press ups. And I’ll be doing 100,000 in 2024 in honour of my mum and the MS society. If anyone can spare any money, that would be amazing. I know I ask a lot and I appreciate anything anyone gives. A share goes a massive way as well and would mean the world to me.
And finally, me Dewi Taylor, Joseph Pugh and Marcus Jones are running 100,000m from Glasgow to Edinburgh on October 5th. The run starts at 5 and we hope to finish in the same day. It will be 12-18 hours of gruelling running that includes 9 separate checkpoints throughout the Scottish land.
If anyone’s interested, the Guinness world record number in a year was set by some mad man at 1,500,000 which equates to around 4,000 a day! I won't be getting anywhere near that! I will be filming every single one and posting to an Instagram page linked here:
Please roast me if you think my form is not up to scratch. I want it to be done properly.
Anyway, I’ll stop blabbering and leave it there. Big love to all x
More than 130,000 people in the UK have MS. The MS Society is here for every one of them, through the highs, lows and everything in between. There is no cure, but we offer hope for the future by investing millions in research, and help for today through our information, support and campaigning. Together we are strong enough to stop MS. Hi friends, join me in making a difference by supporting a good cause! I'm raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society and any donation will help make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
